“I have been searching for a way to achieve a deeper healing in my patients.
I am aware that up to 80 % of chronic illnesses are lifestyle related. Yet I felt change was so difficult, most patients would not comply.
In studying Holistic Medicine, I discovered the reason people wouldn’t comply. The modern diet leaves people starving for real nutrients, and we overeat trying to search for theses nutrients. Just reviewing the basics from biochemistry, I realized better nutrition could help improve many chronic conditions, and prevent many others.
I also learned that the body was designed to thrive with regular daily exercise, and people needed a way to sneak it back into their lives to restore their vitality.
I have seen illness teach many things, and being mindful of the teachings of illness can often lessen the suffering even if it does not eliminate the illness.
The mind is powerful, and mindfulness and meditation can be used to strengthen the immune system, increase circulation, calm muscle spasms, and support proper digestion.
When the body’s hormones are lacking, I find patients very receptive to replacing them with bio-identical hormones. Women in their 40’s often have years of remission of menopausal symptoms with using natural progesterone cyclically. They have reported marked alleviation of PMS, insomnia, bloating, and irritability. I work with them to find the right dose, the right interval, and the right diet and nutritional supplements to support healthy hormonal metabolism.
I have come to think of the body as an orchestra. Each system needs maintenance and care to contribute to a robust sense of health. In Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome (CFIDS) and Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is seems that the orchestra conductor is ill and each of the players have trouble with energy production. In following the methods discussed in Jacob Teitelbaum’s “From Fatigued to Fantastic”, I have seen many people with CFIDS and FMS regain their strength and vitality.
I will work with each patient to design a health plan that fits best for them.”
